The closed cell structure of Sponge material allows to handle high-pressure sealing applications at a better way. This unique feature of sponge rubber increases the life expectancy of the material in substantially tough applications. EPDM sponge is well suited to outdoor sealing applications due to its superior UV and ozone resistance.
In co-extruded products, as the name suggests, two or more materials (Sponge & Dense EPDM) are combined through a single die with two or more cavities in such that it merge the extrusions and weld them together as a single object. Our Co Extrusion profiles make is more suitable to be applied in Aluminum Façade Systems.
Application wise the harder material (EPDM Dense) serves as purpose with attachment, and the softer compound (EPDM Sponge) completes the seal with glass or others. Co Extrusion Rubber also known as Dual Durometer Rubber.
